Eroton Exploration and Production Company Limited requested the services of CSR-in-Action to conduct community engagement and needs/impact assessment across its host, access and impacted communities in Rivers State. We were to develop two documents – an employee volunteering strategy and a corporate social responsibility strategy. The project which lasted over three months, took us to 14 communities spread across four local government areas.
What we did
We developed a consultation and engagement plan that captured the demographics of the communities engaged, conducted stakeholder mapping and community assessments to identify priorities, extensively and inclusively engaged communities on the basis of demographics to identify needs, and developed strategies to address community needs and community socio-economic development as well as promote peaceful coexistence between Eroton and its communities.
We secured buy-in into community development programs that were jointly identified by community members. We further developed employee volunteering and corporate social responsibility strategies that represent the interests and align with all communities’ expectations.
