The Community Engagement Standards is a world-class framework for businesses and government organisations to guide best practices in community interaction. Supported by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and sponsored by FOSTER, a DFID initiative, the standards promote inclusive growth and host community empowerment.
The CES can help organisations create a structured and well-defined process that enables the community to participate effectively in decision-making processes and meet their needs. In addition, the CES can facilitate effective communication between the organisation and the community. By identifying the most appropriate communication channels, the organisation can inform the community about its activities and plans and receive feedback on improving its operations.
Using the CES can help organisations build positive relationships with host communities and ensure their operations are socially and environmentally responsible.
