As in previous years, the training featured participants from different civil society organisations in the country. The training which had dual sessions featured Mr. Olusesan Samuel Kayode, Team Lead, Training and Advocacy, Freedom Foundation facilitating the first session while Mr. Michael Sunbola President and Founder Lagos Food Bank Initiative facilitated the second session.

Both sessions were very interesting and interactive as the first facilitator, Mr. Samuel Kayode took participants through topics like community entry process, community outreach protocols, prioritising and mapping community stakeholders among others citing real life experiences and examples accrued from years of conducting community outreaches in different parts of the country. In the same vein, Mr. Michael Sunbola also espoused on key concept and ideologies involved in forging robust collaboration between NGO’s and the private and public sectors to ensure that community outreaches are successful; using his organisation and several other organisations he has engaged with as case studies.

Participants were elated at this year’s topic and the depth of knowledge exhibited by the facilitators and applauded Access Bank and CSR-in-Action for organising the CSO-PET workshop and making it free yet qualitative for select civil society representatives on a yearly basis. At the end of the training, certificate of participation was presented to each participant.
