Schneider Electric Recognised As World’s Most Sustainable Company For 2024

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been named the world’s most sustainable company for 2024 by Time Magazine and Statista. This prestigious recognition reflects Schneider Electric’s ambitious goals to reduce its own emissions and its commitment to helping customers enhance energy efficiency and lower their emissions.

Time and Statista employed a transparent, multi-stage methodology to identify the world’s most sustainable companies for 2024. The process began with over 5,000 of the largest and most influential companies worldwide. Following a rigorous four-stage assessment, the final ranking excluded unsustainable industries and evaluated factors such as external sustainability ratings and commitments, corporate reporting practices, and environmental and social performance indicators. This comprehensive approach resulted in a ranking of 500 companies from over 30 countries.

Schneider Electric’s technological expertise and its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program were particularly highlighted by Time and Statista. The SSI program drives and measures the company’s progress toward its 2021–2025 global sustainability targets, encompassing six long-term commitments across all environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions. Notably, Schneider Electric has helped its customers reduce their carbon emissions, saving and avoiding 553 million tonnes of CO2 since 2018.

In addition to aiding its customers, Schneider Electric has also made significant strides in transforming its own supply chain. Carbon emissions from its top 1,000 suppliers have decreased by 27% since the beginning of the program, and 21% of the company’s most strategic supply chain partners have met Schneider Electric’s decent work standards. This progress underscores Schneider Electric’s comprehensive approach to sustainability, setting a benchmark for the industry.
