CSR-in-Action, Global Rights, and Zenera Consulting Organise 2nd Community and Human Rights (CAHR) Award; Recognises Individual and Business Social Impacts

CSR-in-Action and partners have concluded plans to organise the second edition of the CAHR Awards – pronounced “Car Awards” –  to mainstream discussions and encourage the entrenchment of human rights practices within corporate organisations and the society. The award ceremony will take place during this year’s Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI 2020) Conference that is slated for Tuesday, 17 and Wednesday 18 November, 2020.

The CAHR Awards was founded by CSR-in-Action in partnership with Global Rights to motivate and appreciate best performing companies in the Extractive Industry in Nigeria and Africa and provides a platform that would encourage businesses to take extraneous steps to correct the anomalies of engagement within communities, primarily extractive communities, by acknowledging and appreciating best performing companies. Awards are also presented to outstanding individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership, social responsibility, gender equality, or significantly contributed to alleviating human suffering and improving the quality of life of individuals both in Nigeria and abroad.

The Awards was set up to mainstream discussions on human rights, social justice and other community inclusion issues, and encourage the entrenchment of selfless service among individuals and human rights practices within corporate organisations, by rewarding individuals and corporate entities who have proven themselves worthy,
