ACI and CSR in Action name conference committee for Women SDG Advocates Conference 2026

The African CleanUp Initiative (ACI), in partnership with CSR in Action, has announced the Women SDG Advocates Conference 2026 (WSAC 2026), a hybrid gathering convened to mark International Women’s Day and spotlight women leading Sustainable Development Goals action across communities, businesses and public service.

The organisers also unveiled the Conference Committee, which will provide strategic direction for the programme and support stakeholder engagement ahead of the event. Committee members are Dr Bekeme Masade Olowola, Group Chief Executive, CSR-in-Action; Victoria N Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead, Nestlé Nigeria; Titilope Oguntuga of IHS Towers; and Mrs Bukola Adeoye of SystemSpecs Holdings Limited.

According to Dr Alexander Akhigbe, Founder and Chief Executive of ACI, the conference is designed as a practical convening point for women already driving change across sectors. “WSAC 2026 is a convening point for women who are already doing the work, leading initiatives, shaping policy conversations and driving results across sectors. This committee brings credibility and reach, and its focus is simple: a conference that is practical, well coordinated and capable of producing clear next steps that continue after 11 March,” he said.

WSAC 2026 will be held on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Commerce House, 1 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 9:00 am. The format is hybrid, with an option for virtual participation. Attendance is open to women only.

What to expect at WSAC 2026

The programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, spotlight sessions and interactive workshops, with sessions focused on practical levers for delivery, including funding access, partnerships, advocacy, digital tools, and impact measurement. Organisers say the day will also include networking and partnership clinics intended to convert conversations into follow-through.

Dr Bekeme Masade Olowola said the conference will prioritise measurable outcomes over broad ambition. “Sustainability and SDG progress will not be delivered by good intentions. It takes clear priorities, partnerships that are structured for delivery, and the discipline to measure what is working. WSAC 2026 will spotlight women-led solutions that are already improving lives, while equipping advocates with tools to strengthen results and build continuity beyond the day itself,” she said.

The programme will include contributions from Dr Bekeme Masade Olowola, Victoria N. Uwadoka, and Titilope Oguntuga, alongside a panel session featuring Agharese Lucia Onaghise, Executive Director, Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance.

A special keynote address will be delivered by Dr Oreoluwa Finnih Awokoya, Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals and Investment to the Lagos State Governor. Eunice Akhigbe will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
