Siemens is a technology company that is active in nearly all countries of the world, focusing on the areas of automation and digitalization in the process and manufacturing industries, intelligent infrastructure for buildings and distributed energy systems, smart mobility solutions for rail and road and medical technology and digital healthcare services.

Siemens has been active in Nigeria since the 1950s and established its first Representative Office in the country in 1970. Today, more than 140 employees operate from Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja as well as project sites around the country. Siemens has around 377,000 employees in more than 200 countries/regions.

In 2018, Siemens generated revenue of €83.0 billion and net income of €6.1 billion. As of September 30, 2018, Siemens had around 379,000 employees.

Social Impact

Education – Siemens Nigeria in a bid to make education accessible to all people, work with hundreds of universities around the world and support several research collaborations. They contribute actively towards areas of learning like STEM and sustainability and provide them with the tools they need to tackle both current and future challenges.

2020 Highlights

Siemens Energy Nigeria during the COVID-19 pandemic donated 640 test kits as well as 10,000 pieces of protective equipment including face masks and gloves to the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control.

In April 2020, Siemens Energy launched the campaign #KeepTheLightsOn which showcases the stories of their employees, highlighting their sacrifice and excellence while giving Siemens Energy leaders and employees a chance to say “thank you” to them.

In the fiscal year 2020, they achieved the reduction of direct greenhouse gas emissions that arises from sources in the company’s ownership or under its control and indirect greenhouse gas emissions. by around one third or 148,000 metric tons.

The company in 2020, launched the Siemens Innovation Ecosystem that enables a large number of teams to collaborate globally in a network of knowledge and innovation.
