The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) Plc previously known as Nigerian Stock Exchange was founded in 1960 and today services the largest economy in Africa, as well as championing the development of Africa’s financial markets. LiceNGXd under the Investment and Security Act (ISA) and regulated by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria, the exchange offers listing and trading services, market data solutions, ancillary technology services and more.

The NGX career philosophy guides the company towards diversity as the core to the employment practices. NGX is a responsible corporate citizen and therefore views diversity as a key business performance index by which success is measured by.

The NGX engages in activities that go beyond the interest of the organisation, to activities that positively impact the workforce, community, society, and Nigerian nation at large. Social engagement strategies include donations, training, and employee volunteerism in the areas of education and health.

 

Spotlight Initiatives

Education: The NGX being committed to supporting efforts aimed at addressing financial literacy and empowerment, this commitment is expressed in the various financial inclusion and literacy initiative undertaken by the NGX. Example of such initiatives include; Essay Competition aimed at bridging the gap in classroom learning with practical knowledge for long-term personal financial planning.

Global Money Week: Every year, NGX commemorates the Global Money Week by hosting series of educational programmes designed to help children understand the concept of saving, investing, creating livelihood, gaining employment, entrepreneurship and how money works. Other educational initiatives include NGX X-Tours (schools’ excursion to the Exchange) and adopt a school initiative.

In 2017, NGX built Maisandari Alamderi Model Nursery and Primary School to help Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno State access quality education. The school was created as a model for Primary education in the North-Eastern region. The project, managed by our implementing partner, Bridge Academies International, has helped to improve the outcomes for over 250 children attending the school while implementing initiatives that strengthen the delivery of quality education across Borno State including the deployment of technology, specialized training and learning content which has helped local teachers embrace new teaching techniques to transform learning outcomes for their pupils.

2020 Highlights

The NGX raised about N50million in donations from annual corporate challenge for interventions in cancer related causes. The NGX also contributed N20million to cancer related causes across Nigeria. Free cancer screening (breast, cervical and prostate) were conducted for over 100 participants at the event.
