Countries around the world are working towards the sustainable development goals, yet year for year climate impacts can set them back. The Executive Committee of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage associated with Climate Change Impacts would like capacity-building agencies and organisations to help identify gaps in addressing loss and damage, and ways to address the gaps.

Your inputs will help enhance cooperation and facilitation in relation to climate action and support, with a view to better addressing loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change.
As you may be aware, the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damageseeks to address loss and damage associated with impacts of climate change, including extreme events and slow onset events, in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change, in a manner that is comprehensive, integrated and coherent. Its three functions are:
- Enhancing knowledge and understanding of comprehensive risk management approaches;
- Strengthening dialogue, coordination and synergies among relevant stakeholders;
- Enhancing action and support, including finance, technology and capacity building.
