Seplat is an independent indigenous Nigerian upstream exploration and production company with a focus on the prolific Niger Delta region. Seplat has a vision to be a world-class independent energy company delivering premium value to all stakeholders.

Seplat states that its HSE Policy is implemented under an approved management system developed in line with guidelines issued by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (‘IOGP’), which are further supplemented by the Company’s own policies to guarantee compliance to the country’s regulations and standards.

2020 Highlights

To address the levels of poverty and unemployment among youth and women, and militancy in the communities. Seplat implements economic development programmes that help to develop capacity through skills acquisition and enhance the growth of Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) and community vendors. In 2019, 121 youths from the Oben and Sapele field communities were trained while 66 youths from the Ovhor field community commenced skills acquisition training in various vocations.

During the year, 4,519 women were impacted through its Safe Motherhood Programme. 3,500 expectant mothers among them received pregnancy kits while 3,000 children were de-wormed.

The PEARLs Quiz initiative is designed to raise awareness and interest in striving for academic excellence among students in public and private schools in Delta and Edo states. It rewards diligence and raises the quality of education in our operational areas. In 2019, 860 secondary schools from Delta and Edo states with a total of 4,300 students participated while N11.9 million was given out as award-based money to winning schools and students.

Seplat awarded scholarships to 162 post-primary school students in its host communities in Delta and Edo States. They also awarded scholarships to 120 new undergraduate students in public universities nationwide.
