2020 Highlights
UNESCO’s World Poetry day 2019.
Providus Bank hosted Nobel Laurate Professor Wole Soyinka at an Evening of Life and Ideas event on UNESCO’s World Poetry Day. This event which featured some reading, writing and poetry performances. It took place at the bank’s corporate head office in Lagos. World Poetry Day is the occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting and raise the visibility of poetry in the media.
