The Nigerian Television Authority is a government-owned public broadcaster of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with a mandate to inform, educate and entertain the populace and the global audience. It was born as the sole entity responsible for Television broadcasting in Nigeria. NTA functions to provide independent and impartial television broadcasting for general reception in the interest of Nigeria. Their popular programmes include Good Morning Nigeria, Giant in the Sun, among others.
As a national broadcasting channel, NTA seeks to serve as a tool for national integration particularly to strengthen it in fulfilling its crucial role as a pillar and enhancer in the development of shared national consciousness, cohesion and identity of the Nigerian nation-State.
The NTA holds an annual event called the NTA Children’s Expo, an event that engages participants-mainly Students from all the States of the Federation to competitively come up with innovative inventions that are adjudged by a team of experts, after which positions and prizes are awarded to the best projects.
