Globacom Limited is a telecommunications network service provider with millions of subscribers in Nigeria and Ghana. Popularly known as the grandmasters of data, they are the first single company to build a high-capacity submarine fibre-optic cable, popularly known as Glo-1, the first successful submarine cable from the United Kingdom to Nigeria. The company employs more than 3,500 people worldwide.
Social Impact
Globacom is the main sponsor of a magazine programme of the Cable News Network (CNN) called ‘African Voices ChangeMakers’, a programme that highlights the continent’s most dazzling trendsetters who impact the lives of others while influencing areas such as music, film, sports, and technology.
In the past, they had acted as co-sponsors to the One Lagos Fiesta (OLF), an end-of-the-year entertainment initiative of the Lagos State Government as a show of commitment to the growth and development of the state as well as to the well-being of its customers.


2020 Highlights
Globacom in conjunction with a global technology company, Huawei, presented routers for the University of Benin and smartphones loaded with Glo data for the five best performing students of the institution.
As full sponsors of the famous Ofala festival since 2011, Glo gave out five new tricycles and television sets to winners of a raffle draw as part of the activities of the festival held in Onitsha, Anambra State.
