 e Executive Director\, Nigeria Network of NGOs\n\n\n\n\nThe ninth C-PET tra
 ining themed ‘Governance and Decision-Making’ featured 58 participants 
 from different Civil Society Organisations from different parts of the coun
 try. There were two sessions and two facilitators to anchor each session. T
 he first facilitator was Mr Soji Apampa\, the Founder and Executive Direct
 or\, Convention on Business Integrity (CBI). The second was Mr Oluseyi Oyeb
 isi\, the Executive Director\, Nigeria Network of NGOs. Mr Soji Apampa\, wa
 s for several years\, a Consultant to the Governance and Institutions Polic
 y Commission of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG). He was appointed 
 in May 2008 to the International Working Group of the UN Global Compact on 
 the 10th Principle (Anti-corruption). He was on the editorial board of the 
 2009 TI Global Corruption Report and was a member of the Organising Committ
 ee of the 12th International Anti-Corruption Conference which took place in
  Guatemala City\, Guatemala. While Mr. Oluseyi Oyebisi is a strong voice on
  global and national development and was part of the global civil society l
 eaders that campaigned and advocated for both the development and attainmen
 t of the MDGs and led civil society campaigns on the post-2015 conversation
 s and consultations that gave the birth to the Sustainable Development Goal
 s.\n\nBoth sessions were deep and interactive as they were effortlessly del
 ivered by both facilitators who had a depth of knowledge on corporate gover
 nance\, its principles and its use in decision-making. The modules for the 
 training were developed based on careful research by the facilitators and t
 he CSR-in-Action team. CSR-in-Action shared the outline to facilitate seaml
 essness and to negate repetition by the two independent facilitators.\n\nTh
 e first facilitator\, Mr Soji Apampa\, took participants through topics on 
 corporate governance. The concepts\, models\, essential principles and stak
 eholders of corporate governance. He also walked participants through the p
 rocesses of understanding governance networks\, the notion of corporate gov
 ernance\, corporate social responsibility\, sustainability and performance 
 and future directions for corporate governance and considerations in corpor
 ate decision-making.  Case studies\, which have always proved to be good t
 eaching aids\, were deployed to further examine governance.\n\nOn the other
  hand\, Mr Oluseyi Oyebisi focused on applying corporate governance princip
 les. He walked participants through decision-making principles\, strategic 
 decision-making processes\, models and options\, corporate governance in et
 hical decision-making and techniques for prioritising and choosing from opt
 ions. And case studies were given on effective behaviours in decision-makin
